Pig abattoir in KwaZulu-Natal, supplying South Africa
If you are looking for a pig abattoir in KwaZulu-Natal — or a reliable source of graded pork, beef or sheep carcasses anywhere in South Africa — Meatmasters Abattoir at Plot 19 Dagbreek, Shoba, Vryheid has been slaughtering since 1998. It is part of Meatmasters, a proudly South African business established in Vryheid in 1995 that owns every step of the chain: farming and sourcing, abattoir, primal plant, smokehouse, butchery supplies and retail.
What trade buyers get
Butcheries, wholesalers, processors, retailers and food-service kitchens buy carcasses and cut-to-specification primals from one standard. Pork carcasses are graded on the PORCUS scale — our carcasses grade almost entirely P and O — with classification and grading done independently through IMQAS in collaboration with SAMIC. The abattoir and primal plant are FSSC 22000 Version 6 certified, the abattoir is Pork 360 certified, and it holds Pick n Pay Sow- and Crate-Friendly certification. Documentation accompanies every load: classification, traceability and food safety.
We run regular routes through KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and Gauteng, and full loads — 12–14 pallets, roughly 150 pig carcasses, roughly 13 tonnes — are delivered to every province, with 7-day payment terms on full loads, subject to credit approval. Prices are on request. See wholesale meat supply for how supply works for your kind of business, or build a quote list in the interactive trade profile and send it to Tobie on WhatsApp.
For pig producers
Pigs come from partner farms in KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga, many of whom are shareholders, and we are prepared to buy from other provinces. Producers get independent IMQAS grading and prompt payment from a buyer close to home. Phone the abattoir on 034 981 4229 or see supplying pigs to the abattoir.
